Sunday School Program

Our Sunday School program begins in September and continues through mid-June for children age three through sixth grade.

Pre-school through kindergarten age children meet in the upstairs fellowship hall at 9:30.  They enjoy singing songs and learning Bible stories through storytelling and crafts.

Children in 1st through 6th grade meet at 9:30 AM downstairs in the Sunday School gathering room for their opening service.  From there they divide into smaller groups
to explore Old and New Testament stories
of faith through our Workshop Rotation curriculum.  A variety of learning methods
are used including, art, science, drama, games and cooking. 

Our classrooms are creative and fun learning environments and we plan lots of great learning experiences for the Sunday School year.

   Sunday School
                          Mission Projects

Students are encouraged to participate in several outreach projects during the year.  Each Sunday morning children can bring in non-perishable food items for donation to
Our Savior's food pantry. 

In October we begin collecting additional
items to put together Holiday food baskets for families in need.  These and other mission projects throughout the year help families in our community and also benefit the children as they learn the lesson of giving with thankfulness for all that we have.

Children's Drama Club

For children who especially enjoy making
"A Joyful Noise Unto The Lord", the Children's Drama Club presents several pageants throughout the year.  They have a wonderful time practicing and preparing to perform for the congregation.

Recent performances included our 2007 Christmas Pageant, the 2008 Easter Pageant, and the Drama Club performed a skit at Vacation Bible School on August 2, 2008.

Registration Information

Registration is underway for the 2009 - 2010 Sunday School year.  Registration forms are available in the Sunday School office.

You are always welcome to come in with your children and register on any Sunday morning. The Sunday school office is on the right as
you enter through the north side entrance.  There is always staff available on Sunday mornings during the school year to assist you.

Special Days through
the Sunday School Year

During the year there are dates set aside for special activities.  We have Celebration Sundays, Craft Sundays, Mission Sundays, Friendship Sundays, and Sundays when the children sing in church.   The Sunday School schedule can be found on our calendar page.

Celebration Sundays are scheduled through the year as an opportunity to participate in worship as a family, sitting together in the pew and strengthening your commitment as a family
to God.  There are no Sunday school classes
on Celebration Sundays.  Instead, we come together as a church family at the 9:30 AM worship service to celebrate what the children have been learning in their Sunday School Workshop Rotations.

Come with your children to worship on Celebration Sundays.   Let them experience worship with you and witness their parents, teachers, classmates and church family worshiping together.  Share with them in the lessons that they have been learning and partner with our Sunday School volunteers
in the Christian nurture of our children.

Celebration Sundays are listed on our calendar along with the entire Sunday School schedule.

Craft Sundays

On Craft Sundays our usual Sunday school
class time is replaced with a group craft. 
The students work together with their teachers, classmates, and friends on a special project like making valentine cards for our home bound members or nursing home residents. 

Mission Sunday

On Mission Sunday the children learn a special lesson about missionaries and other volunteers who work to help others and share God's love with the world. 

The 2007-2008 Confirmation and Sunday School classes learned about the needs of our hungry neighbors in Haiti and collected $198.00 in coins  for their World Hunger Mission Project.

Friendship Sunday

Friends are always welcome to visit Sunday school.  Our Friendship Sundays are a special day where we don't just bring a friend to church...we celebrate our friendship.    

Singing in Church

The Sunday school children enjoy learning
new hymns and singing their favorites.  Once
a month the pre-k and Kindergarten children
sing a hymn for the congregation that they
have practiced.
