Social Gatherings
and Small Groups

Various types  of social events are held throughout the year.  Some of these events have included:

• pancake breakfasts

• pot-luck suppers and luncheons

• picnics and barbeques

• a strawberry festival (photos)

• theatre trips

• craft fairs

• group bowling

• line dancing

• road rallies

• marching in the Patchogue Lion's
  4th of July parade (photos)

• The annual spaghetti dinner
  prepared by the youth group (photos)

• At Christmas we gather in car pools
  and travel to homebound members
  to sing Christmas carols followed by refreshments at the church.

Sunday Coffee  Hour

Coffee, tea  and refreshments are served in the fellowship hall after each Sunday worship service.  All are welcome!  Stop in after church for a cup of coffee and a chance to meet some new friends.

Consider Sharing Your  Unique
Gifts and  Talents

At Our Savior’s we recognize and appreciate the unique gifts, talents and interests of each person.  We invite and encourage each member and friend to share their individual gifts and talents in support of God’s work in the world and to enhance the ministry of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior.  

 

 

 

 

Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America  (WELCA)

The women of WELCA host various gatherings during the year.  We share activities, food and fellowship and have good times, but we are much more than a social club.  The women of WELCA organize many projects at Our Savior's that benefit our local community as well as global missions.

At the heart of WELCA is our circles.  We
have several small groups of women that get together monthly at church or at members homes to share Bible study and fellowship. 
All women of Our Savior’s are welcome and encouraged to join one of these Friendship Circles.

Lutheran Men in Mission

Men of Our Savior’s meet to study the bible, grow in faith and join in Christian fellowship.  Lutheran Men in Mission get together for regular golfing events and other activities.

Youth Group

Students in Middle and High School are welcome to join our Youth Group.  Various events are planned throughout the year providing opportunities for our young people to spend time together, establish friendships and participate in a variety of activities with their peers.

Craft Guild

Also known as “The Lunch Bunch”, this group meets at the church each Tuesday from Noon to 2 p.m. to share crafting tips and create handmade items.

The craft guild produces handmade items for charitable distribution or for sale for the benefit of charitable organizations outside of the church. Coffee is served and members bring a bag lunch.

Choir

Our volunteer choir meets on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. to lift their joyful voices to the Lord.  Accomplished and experienced volunteer accompanists/directors lead the
small group as they learn new hymns
from Evangelical Lutheran Worship, and
prepare special holiday anthems.

They are looking for a few good men and
women (especially sopranos and basses!)
to help them lead the singing at the 9:30 a.m. worship service regularly and the 11:00 a.m. worship service on special occasions. 

More voices = more possibilities.
